Valley View Rehab & Nursing Center

Visitation update July 2020

Strict guidelines must be followed to minimize risk of any residents contracting COVID-19.? Baseline testing has been completed with no positive cases!? Valley
View Rehab & Nursing Center is ready to move to the next phase of visitation guidelines.

The new visitation guidelines are listed below. ?Visitors must comply with all rules or the visit will be terminated and/or not permitted. ?VVRNC is following guidelines
from the PA Department of Health and doing everything possible to keep our vulnerable residents from getting sick from COVID-19.

Responsible parties or capable residents may schedule in person visits with the reception staff by calling 570-433-3161 any day of the week from 8:00am to 3:30pm.? The ?drive by visits will end on August 1st and in person visits will begin on August 3rd.?? The new visitation schedule will be 10 am ? 11:30 am and 2 pm ? 3:30 pm Monday through Saturday.?

These new, in-person visits must be in a ?neutral zone?.? Visitors will not be permitted to go to the resident?s room or anywhere else in the facility except the outside courtyard. ?If weather is severe, visits will be relocated to the lower lobby. ?In order to comply with social distancing and allow time for cleaning, only two residents per time slot can be accommodated at this time. Visits will be 20 minutes in length and scheduled in 30-minute increments so there is ample time to screen and sanitize after visits. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled visit. ?Our goal is to accommodate everyone, so we are allowing each resident to have one scheduled visit approximately every two weeks. ?Two visitors per resident are allowed. Visitors should be of a minimum age of 18 years old. Children under 18 years old will be considered on a case by case basis only. To schedule visits, we are asking only one person per resident be the main contact to schedule any visits ? the responsible party is preferred ? he or she may confirm who the two visitors will be. ?If the resident is capable, he or she will have to approve any visitors. ?Priority visits will be given to those residents with birthdays. For those who work or live out of the area, priority will be given for the Saturday visits.

On the day of your visit, please arrive fifteen minutes before scheduled visit to allow ample time for the screening process. ?Questions about symptoms or any exposure to COVID-19 will be asked and your temperature will be taken. Rest rooms will not be accessible at visits as we are minimizing surfaces that are touched, so please plan accordingly. You must use hand sanitizer before and after your visit. ?Please bring your own mask to the visit and wear it appropriately throughout the visit ? covering both nose and mouth. If you arrive without a mask, you will not be able to visit the resident. Cloth masks and surgical masks are acceptable. You must socially distance during visits: this means no touching the resident and stay six feet apart. ?All visits will be monitored by staff and/or volunteers of Valley View; failure to comply with these guidelines will result in termination of the visit.

If Lycoming County would move back to the RED phase, all visitation will stop immediately. ?Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this challenging time. ?Any questions you may have can be answered by the reception staff when visits are scheduled by calling 570-433-3161.?
