Mealtime at Valley View Nursing Center is a wonderful opportunity to promote social interaction and friendship within our community. We offer several dining locations to allow the resident a variety of dining options within our community to meet their individual needs. The residents are invited to dine in the main dining room where we hold cooking demonstrations during the meal service. Our wait staff takes the residents’ orders and delivers each meal to the table from a portable hot buffet. Our Nutrition Services Department provides innovative solutions and provides top-notch service - helping to keep us up to date with ever changing nutritional information.

Special programs are utilized for nutritionally challenged individuals. A host of programs designed to deal effectively with weight loss, cognitive impairment, and instituting solutions that promote good nutrition are other facets of our dining program.

We pride ourselves on resident satisfaction during mealtime. Our Dietician meets with each resident upon arrival to establish his/her individual needs and choices. A regular pattern of review confirms optimal nutritional status is being maintained. The Dietician is available for consultations with residents and family members any time the need arises. Our Nutrition Services works closely with our Therapeutic Recreation Department in providing a wide array of food and snack choices at frequently held social events.

Resident’s input into the Nutrition Services program is valued at Valley View Nursing Center. A resident committee focused on dining meets monthly to help select menus for upcoming holidays and special occasions held at our community. Visiting family and friends are encouraged to dine with us. Valley View Nursing Center offers a private Family Dining Room, which is available for family gatherings.
