Sunrise Terrace
was designed to provide a safe, structured, home-like environment with
specialized care and services to persons diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease
and related dementias.
Our goal is to develop an individualized
program of care that will address physical and emotional changes and
encourage residents to attain their maximum level of independent
functioning.
Resident care at Sunrise Terrace,
rather than being based upon the standard medical model of care, is
based upon the psychosocial care model. This means that our
residents receive the sensitive care they require throughout the course
of this progressive illness.
The dignity of our residents is our
first priority at Sunrise Terrace, and their sense of self-esteem and
well-being is encouraged to its fullest potential.
Our compassionate and dedicated staff
work individually with each resident to help them overcome the
frustrations associated with Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias.
A Loved One's Involvement
Sunrise Terrace's programs reflect the
residents' unique needs and abilities and include familiar aspects of their
lives. The involvement of family, friends, and the community is an
integral component of the care and programming in Sunrise Terrace.
Through supportive services such as education and counseling, family and
significant others are able to continue to actively participate in the lives
of their loved ones.
When one's world becomes frightening,
confusing and uncertain due to physical and emotional changes, Sunrise
Terrace is available to compensate for these losses and provide
opportunities for stability and comfort.
